An Invitation to Scientific Stimulation
and Social Interaction
Dear Colleagues:
The local organizing committee invites you to attend and
immerse yourself completely in the 19th conference of the
World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology,
which will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA from August
10 through August 14, 2003.
Like most of biological science the field of Veterinary
Parasitology is undergoing major advances because of the
growth in molecular genetics and cell biology. At the same
time many of our concerns and questions regarding our understanding
of parasites, their host interactions and their control
remain unchanged. The theme of the conference "Old
Dreams-New Visions: Veterinary Parasitology in the 21st
Century" was meant to stimulate discussion of the merging
of new technologies with traditional studies to answer persistent
as well as new questions. Attempts have been made in designing
the program to maximize time for discussion.
The city of New Orleans has a distinctive culture and its
environs offer a number of historic and ecological tours.
It is the home of some of the best restaurants in North
America, featuring a range of cuisines from Creole to Cajun.
New Orleans is a city of music, satisfying tastes which
include rhythm and blues, jazz, rock and roll, gospel, Cajun
and Zydeco. There is always a reason for a party in New
Orleans and we will see to it that you have fun.
Please share this information with potentially interested
colleagues.
